Wanted - Community Outreach Worker
We have an exciting newly created part-time opportunity for a dynamic, energetic self starter and motivated team player to join us at REDBRIDGE EQUALITIES AND COMMUNITY COUNCIL as Community Outreach Worker
Key tasks
You will work to
👉 actively engage, promote connectivity, cohesion and resilience in the local community
👉 develop and facilitate networking activities and events to widen participation and inclusion of diverse voices within the community
👉 map hate crimes, incidents of Islamophobia, racism and discrimination in all its forms
👉 deliver advice, information and triage sessions to support victims of hate crimes/incidents
👉 develop collaborative partnerships to facilitate referral of complex cases, to improve the quality, support and outcomes for victims
👉 produce timely data, trends and impact reports to inform decision makers, policy review and development
Success in this role will require:
● EXCELLENT communication skills
● DETAIL orientation with analytical and problem solving skills
● STRONG organisational, time management skills
● EMPHATIC, emotionally aware, with genuine commitment to help and support victims of hate crimes and to work closely with the wider local communities
Desirable
● Degree in a relevant field or related work experience
● Fluency in community languages and BSL
We offer
15 hours pw part-time (flexible)
Salary: Competitive
Contract: 6 months fixed term (initial funding secured from Trust for London)
